You are bidding on a World War II U.S. Army Signal Corps photo of U.S. infantrymen in a battle scarred village in Germany dated 10/16/44. The photo measures approximately 8" tall and 10" wide. The following is stamped in purple ink on the back: "SC-195116-S Wary U.S. Infantrymen crouch behind a hedge as the lead man sizes up the situation around the corner in a battle scarred village a mile south of Bardenberg, Germany. Note small dog wandering unconcernedly up the street at left. 10/16/44." Also stamped in purple ink is "Signal Corps Photo Please Credit Released for Publication by Bureau of Public Relations War Department". There is also a sticker on the back with the same typed description of the photo. The photo number "195116-S" is written in white in the lower right corner of the photo and the "Signal Corps U.S. Army" logo appears in the lower left corner of the photo. The photo does not lie flat but is in good condition. Please see our photos for more information regarding condition.
