US Coast Guard rescues Sailor - stamped on the back "From: Public Relations Division - US Coast Guard, Washington DC - Official US Coast Guard Photo ~ Coast Guard Mercy mission saves Seaman.  Put over the side by their ship the crew of a  naval motor launch moves toward a Coast Guard flying boat to transfer a stricken sailor for a flying trip to a west coast hospital.  The Seaman, suffering an appendicitis earlier had been removed from an American Submarine to the naval craft somewhere in the South Pacific.  A radio message brought the Coast Guard plane, which was piloted by Lieutenant Commander Larry L.
