Description
Selling one fully rebuilt original German made Porsche 356C/B 12 Volt VDO oil temperature/combo gauge with a brand new 12 Volt VDO made oil temperature sending unit. Fuel tank sending unit is not included. The fuel gauge can be used on 12 Volts with any used original or reproduction 6 or 12 Volt 90 to 0 ohm Porsche fuel tank sending unit, or any 6 or 12 Volt VW Split Bus/Karmann Ghia fuel tank sending unit, including all used original and new reproduction VW Bus/Ghia sending units. No resistor is required. The original oil temperature gauge mechanism has been replaced with an NOS OEM period correct German made 12 Volt VDO gauge mechanism from the early 1970's. The chrome bezel is a brand new OEM VDO made part imported from Germany. The round female terminal jack connections on the back of the gauge are all brand new. The internal rubber tubes that connect the light socket holders to the red and green bubbles on the dial face have all been replaced with new parts. Gauge is complete with mounting brackets, lighting sockets and new 12 Volt light bulbs in the light sockets. Both of the gauge mechanisms and all of the indicator/warning lights were tested after final assembly and confirmed to be working properly. The oil temp gauge mechanism was tested and calibrated while connected to the included oil temp sending unit and a 12 Volt power source. The oil temperature sending unit can be installed in any stock Porsche 356 A B or C engine, as well as any Porsche 912 engine. The gauge can also be used on 12 Volts with any 150 degree Celsius/300 degree fahrenheit oil temperature sending unit that's currently in production by VDO, if you need this gauge for a kit car or VW powered custom build etc. This gauge will not work with any original Porsche oil temperature sending units that were made before 1965. The oil temp gauge mechanism calibration can be adjusted with a screwdriver through a small hole that's in the back of the gauge housing. The gauge fits into a 100mm diameter hole.
