This is an ORIGINAL 1930's PRE-CODE BETTY BOOP USHER'S BADGE ISSUED TO THE MOVIE THEATERS BY PARAMOUNT PICTURES!
If you're into pinbacks this is one of the best.
It was NEVER sold to the public
, as this was issued ONLY to the movie theaters by Paramount Pictures to advertise the Fleischer Studios signature character Betty Boop. The design couldn't be nicer, as Boop is rendered in glorious Black and White! The pin is 100% original. It's the size of a nickel, which was very common in the early 1930's. This pin was saved by a theater worker who took it home along with a cloth Betty Boop banner. She pinned the badge onto the banner and saved it for over 60 years. I bought it 20+ years ago.
In 1933, the Hays Code forced the Fleischer Studio to change the sexy elements of the Betty Boop character. They removed her cleavage and garter belt. She has the cleavage in the pin and the garter belt on the banner, and so I know this is pre-1933. About 10 years ago I sold the banner for 00. I'm pricing this at the lowest I'll take. It's too rare. This might be the only one out there, and so I need an appropriate price for this spectacular pin.
