Auction is for an original WWII
photograph "For Victory Buy United States War Savings Bonds Stamps"
with associated text slip.
The overall size is approximately 14" X 11" and the text slip is approximately 6" X 14".

Wonderful piece of WWII American history.
Condition:
Please examine the photos for condition of photo and text slip - items are over 70 years old and there are signs of normal wear and tear, i.e. creasing, pin holes, folds, bends, minor tears, curling, foxing, etc.   (NOTE: Multiple small tears along bottom border - see photos)
Provenance:
Personal collection - purchased a lot of 75 photos/banners from and individual whose father collected them when he was a teenager while his older brother was off to war.
Every week a new photo & caption was placed in the window of the local bank in Sandusky Ohio & the bank manager would save & give them to him when they were taken down.
The accompanying banner is dating & describing the scene & also advertising for a bank with a different sales pitch on each one.
