The COA reads: "This certifies that the enclosed Proof coins are official legal tender of the Cook Islands. The coins were minted at Valcambi, Switzerland, to the highest numismatic standards by order of the Government of the Cook Islands in strictly limited quantities." The COA is actually the back of a four-sided pamphlet that is authorized by the National Park Foundation. The inside is a brief history of Washington's Olympic National Park and the endangered bald eagle. A very interesting piece of our history!!
This set is from my mom's coin collection - she has moved into an assisted living facility and did not take any of her coins with her. These coins come in plastic capsules, in a green velvet case, that is stored in a black cardboard box. The beauty of these coins is difficult to capture in pictures because of the reflection off the plastic capsules, but this would be an amazing addition for any coin collection.
This is the first time that the coins have been out of the box (for the picture of the back of each coin).
Once the 28 gram coin was out, I found that there is a small crack on the back edge of the capsule (picture 11).
