Bronze and nickel-brass Half Puffin and Puffin of the Island of Lundy. Listed in Unusual World Coins catalog as KMXTn3-6 (or Br-XPS2). They are in Proof grade and 3,000 sets were made.
The Fortieth Year Commemorative set celebrates the purchase of Lundy Island by Martin Coles Harman in 1925. The island is located in the Bristol Channel off the west coast off England. These pieces are unofficial issues of coinage. The set consists of 4 coins. Set includes two ½ Puffin and two 1 Puffin denominations. Half Puffin and Puffin to mirror the value of the British Halfpenny and Penny. Obverse depicts portrait of Martin Coles Harman facing left. Reverse of Half Puffin depicts puffin head facing left, reverse of One Puffin is a puffin facing left on a rocky ledge.
