    ITEM: Lot of 11 Original WWII Snapshot Photos of 118th MEDICAL BATTALION, 43rd DIVISION GI's from CONNECTICUT in the Jungle of MUNDA, NEW GEORGIA, 1943.
    Photos are from Sergeant (T/4) John Nappi of New Haven, Connecticut. He was in the 118th Medical Battalion, 43rd Infantry Division. Trained at Camp Blanding Florida (1941), Louisiana Maneuvers (1941), Carolina Maneuvers (1941), Camp Shelby Mississippi (1942). He served in New Zealand (1942), Noumea New Caledonia (1942), Guadalcanal (1943), Munda New Georgia (1943), recovered from malaria in New Zealand (1944), Aitape New Guinea, Luzon Philippines (1945). Most of the 118th Medical Battalion was from Connecticut (New Haven, Bridgeport, Hartford, etc.). Notably Sergeant Nappi got malaria in New Caledonia and recovered in the 38th General Hospital in Auckland, New Zeeland in 1944. He volunteered to receive a secret experimental drug as a Guinea pig for which he received a commendation from General Harmon.
