    Description

Bust facing three-quarters to the right, wearing a tight heardress topped with a crescent and large earrings, swastika in the right field / Sogdian legend mxyty c'chynk xwbw ("Mahyty (?) ruler of Chach") around an angular tamgha. 20mm, 1.78 grams. Shagalov/Kuznetzov are alternative readings of the reverse inscription nyrtnk c'chynk xwbw ("Nirtnk (or Nirtanak) ruler of Chach") orzyrtnk c'chynk xwbw ("Zirtnk (or Zirtanak) ruler of Chach"). The Rtveladze's reading of mxyty can probably be identified with Mokhedu Tutun, an early central Asian ruler found in Chinese annals.
