    Description

I REALLY NEED TO SELL THIS AND OTHER ITEMS - "life" is making these tough decisions necessary...
The following is a part of a very large collection of memorabilia, all of which I have collected over my lifetime. I am looking for a good home for each.
NOTE: The text across the photo is photoshopped on to prevent copying.
This is an EXTREMELY RARE and COLLECTIBLE ITEM - an Associated Press wire photo taken on June 13 1944 on the beachhead at Normandy following the June 4 D-Day landing of allied troops invading Nazi-occupied France for hopeful liberation.
The photo - released on June 15 1944 by AP, has a caption headline "SHIPS KEEP FRENCH BEACHHEAD SUPPLIED". The caption reads: "Many types of landing craft - including "ducks", barges, LGTs and LSTs - are used to shuttle supplies to a Normandy beachhead for troops fighting their way inland. On the horizon are dozens of transports and overhead are barrage balloon. This was a beachhead scene from June 13. (AP wirephoto from Navy)
On the back are a library ink stamp post-dated June 22 1944) and the Associated Press ink stamp.
This photo is so mind-boggling - imagining the mayhem with the invasion in full swing with all of this coordinated historic WWII military effort being brought to life.
This photo is ONE OF A KIND! I have never seen another version of it anywhere. DON'T MISS OUT!!!
I have lots of sports and other collectibles I will be listing - programs, media guides, photos, baseball cards, hockey cards, etc...  If you have any questions, please send me a note!
    Happy bidding!
