Serial production of Dahlta-010 was launched in 1969 at the People's Enterprise "Carl Zeiss" Jena in the GDR.  Despite the fact that the first Dahlta Total Station was released by Carl Zeiss factory in 1942, in fascist Germany, this model the device can be considered one of the most successful ever produced optical total stations.  Due to its capabilities, it has become very popular with Surveyors of the countries of the socialist community, and in the USSR in particular.  Dahlta-010 It belongs to the class of nomogram optical total stations.  Nomographic the curves were plotted on a separate glass circle coaxial with the vertical limb.  The device allowed to measure vertical and horizontal angles, distances, get horizontal spacing and elevations.  In addition, a cartographic table of the “Carty” type was supplied with it, which made it possible to apply the results of shooting directly to the field, along with measurements, on paper or mylar film, which significantly increased the productivity of the surveyor.  After the Dahlta-010, two more modifications, Dahlta-010A and Dahlta-010B, were released, after which the era of optical total stations ended and electronic devices replaced them.
Short description of the device Dahlta-010 - nomogram optical total station automatic machine.  The total station has: horizontal and vertical limbs, a removable tribrach, an optical plummet, a repeating system of vertical axes with a limb latch and a micrometer-clamping device common for a limb and alidade, a scale microscope, a direct image telescope with diagrams of horizontal laying and elevations.  The coefficients of the range-finding curves are 100 and 200, the excess curves are 10, 20, 50, and 100. Nomograms are distributed over the entire field of view of the tube and are observed when the telescope is “circle left”.  The goniometer part of the device is made on the basis of theodolite Theo 010 with a compensator. The consumer package included: a tacheometer in a laying case, a cartographic table in a case, a tripod, two tacheometric rails 4 m long with scale divisions through 1 cm and a compass.
