I purchased this new in April 2016 (i ve used it only 3 out of the last 5 years tho as i moved; i had this in climate controlled storage when not in use). Retailing for close to ,000, it has served me very well. Equally adept at music and HT, the 888 is currently hooked up to a Proceed AMP 5, where it s proven itself a fantastic combination.
Two minor issues i noticed: 1. The room correction is not engaging for some reason. I spoke to Arcam and they said i could ship it to United Technologies to have it looked at. As i would have to ship it, then have it fixed, monetarily I didn’t feel it worthwhile being simple enough to do manually or with an outboard calibration program. I chose the manual method as it provided great flexibility and i was able to dial it in nicely. 2. In pic #5 you can see the “- input button” is slightly pressed in. I just noticed it as i was taking the pictures. I ve never used it as the remote control has the same feature and takes care of any input selection.
The remote works great. I used my comcast remote for volume so the remote gets used for input select and calibration only, not volume.
The remote control is included as well as the calibration mic. I have the original box and I will ship it in that. Pick up is preferred and i d be happy to drive a few hours to deliver
