Antique Mintons Cabinet Plate, Portrait, Artist Signed

Description

Condition:  Excellent antique condition.
This porcelain plate was produced in England by Mintons in 1881.  The date cipher indicates this year.  It was sold by the renowned retailer, W P & G Phillips, Oxford Street, London.  The artist’s initials, V. C., for the Mintons artist Vincent Carter, are on the back.  The plate measures 9 1/2"
In diameter.  The fine, white bone china is of excellent quality.  A scene of a little girl picking flowers in a meadow is hand painted in pastel colors.  The sweet, innocent child collected bunches of flowers folded up in her dress.  These flowers in particular are executed with raised enamels so that you can feel their texture. There is gold trim on the rim.  This plate is a lovely work of art. #C219
